What's in a name?

Children of Abraham was the name the group originally had, centered on the figure of Abraham, the common ancester of the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faiths. As the Southern Tier's religious spectrum has changed to incorporate Hindu, Buddhist and other faiths, the group has expanded its tent to be more inclusive.

Join the interfaith conversation!

Interfaith Broome County is hosting its first event, “Meet Greet and Eat” on Sunday May 4th from 3:00-4:30 at Temple Concord, 9 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905. Interfaith Broome County strives to build mutual trust and respect in Broome County across religious traditions through interfaith conversation and education. In addition to learning of the hopes for this new organization, participants will have an opportunity to get to know each other, share Oneg-style kosher snacks, and engage in interfaith dialogue. The IBC Steering Committee is eager to get input from attendees on future events. Visit www.interfaithbroomecounty.org for more information and contact information. Your RSVP from the website or by calling the Temple Concord office (607) 753-7355 will help the event planning! The organizers look forward to reconnecting with old friends and making some new ones! Note: Please bring a food item for CHOW to help the hungry in our community if you are able.
